Welcome to the journal of my 3 month stay in Tokyo, Japan from March 29th to the June 25th, 2005. I studied abroad at ICU (International Christian University) which is one of the biggest international schools in Japan and is not a religious organization. There are only 2000 students, of which only 140 are non-Japanese (And only a small amount of those are American). Making friends in Japan is pretty easy, once you get past the "Dozo Yoroshiku", or "nice to meet you" stage. Tokyo is amazing, it just vibrates with undercurrents of the yet to be discovered. My dorm is about an hour from Tokyo (a long walk, and then a train ride), and my commute to school from my dorm takes an hour and 15 minutes (a long walk, a train ride, and then a bus ride). Things are very different in Tokyo, but so interesting.

The way I do the journal, is put everything I did that day, not only the interesting parts. The journal will be something for me to reflect upon later in life. The subject line on the top of the journals will have the major 'going-ons' of that day. Every once in a while I'll post a picture post where I'll have lots of pics of Japan you can look at, and any interesting signs and Engrish I found amusing.
